spaghetti face

This is my happy, messy little boy (perhaps happiest when he's messy!!!) :) He has a great appetite, which I'm thankful for, but I have to be strategic about when we eat certain foods. Some meals always require an immediate bath--this is one of them!

Balloon Glow

Friday night, we went to the annual Balloon Glow in Forest Park! It is a huge event (I think the entire city was there!) where tons of hot air balloons were lit up the night before the balloon race. We met up with some friends, picnicked in the park, and then headed over to see all of the balloons. It was a really fun night! This is us...I think at this point Ty was looking at a gigantic truck balloon that was falling down. He kept saying, "Truck fell down!" (even on the drive home).

playing together

Yesterday, I put Drew in Ty's room for a few minutes while I got ready and they played together! It was so sweet! It's the first time they actually "played together!" And when I say "played" I mean that Ty piled toys in and around Drew's lap and Drew took turns putting them in his mouth! They were very content and played quietly until we got out the camera and video camera. Ty is not into sitting still for any kind of photo documenting...he immediately wants to see the photo (he comes running toward me saying, "Seeeee it!"...usually before I've taken a picture!)

here was my view of the boys as I peaked around the corner
so I went in to get a closer look...too cute

this look I call "pondering"--I love the glasses (they belong to Mr. Potato Head)

8 months

Drew is eight months old today! I really can't believe it! I've been meaning to post pictures of him and the progress of his new milestones for awhile now! Over the past few weeks, Drew has been working hard at crawling and sitting up. I am going to say that he can officially do both now! His crawling is not yet smooth, but he can basically get anywhere he wants to go (and trust me...he can be very determined!!!) It's almost impossible to change his diaper these days--he flips over before I have a chance to even begin getting the new diaper on!

Last week, I walked out of the room for a few minutes and came back to find him sitting up on his own for the first time! I was ecstatic! Now, he is pretty good at sitting up on his own although he occasionally falls completely backward (hence the pillows behind him in the picture)! We love you, Drew, and we are so proud of you! You mean the world to us!
