We did it!!!

Well, I did it! I ventured out with both kids today on my own, and...we made it! We went to the mall, the post office, and Whole Foods! I put Drew in the Baby Bjorn and Ty in the stroller (since we don't have a double stroller yet--I think I'm getting one this weekend!) It was great and sooooooooooooooo wonderful to be out of the house!!! Ty was awesome (and when I told him that, he repeated, "Awesome!" I love hearing him say that word!), and sweet little Drew just slept through it all! The funny thing was that two different people thought that Drew was a stuffed animal! Okay, so he WAS wearing a little brown sleeper with a hood that had ears (don't be nervous, it's from the Gap), but who in their right mind would go through the trouble (and embarrassment) of strapping a stuffed animal to themselves before going out to run errands? I just wanted my baby to be warm!!! Oh well...at least we ventured out, and I know we can do it! Nothing can stop us now!

brothers

I have been wanting to get some pictures of Ty and Drew together, but I knew it was going to be a little tricky. My main goal was for Ty not to hit, sit on, or squish Drew during the process! It actually went surprisingly well. Ty sat still (most of the time), and I think he really liked getting to "hold" Drew. Here are a few pictures of my sweet boys together...

Don't you just want to kiss this sweet baby face?

Big Boy Bed

Well, the time has come (prematurely, if you ask his mom!!!) for us to transition Ty to a bed. I would have waited until this summer (at least). However, yesterday, Ty decided to catapult himself out of his crib during his play time! I was feeding Drew in another room when I heard a loud bang followed by crying. I rushed to Ty's room, but before I got there, my question ("What toy did he throw out of his crib? Please tell me that WAS a toy!!!") was answered...I saw his tiny hands opening his door!!! I could not believe it!!!

Thankfully, I think it scared him more than hurt him, but he did get a round bruise/carpet burn on his forehead. So, we decided we'd rather go through all that comes with the transition to a bed rather than risking a serious injury because we know our little daredevil would try it again! I can't believe my baby is not in a crib anymore! He, however, seems to be really excited about the change! He helped daddy put the rails on (well, he played with the screws while Corey attached the side rails) and then had a great time hopping up on the bed and getting down (over and over)--just because he could! And, I'm proud (and thankful) to say, he made it through the night (and currently one nap) without getting out of bed! Yeah Ty!!!

Here he is, sitting proudly on his "big boy bed" just before bedtime last night...

Eight inches of "no"

We got eight inches of snow (or "NO!" as Ty says) last night that we had to play in today! :) I think Ty really likes it unless he feels stuck!

in blue

I love Drew in blue! It brings out his beautiful eyes (which are a rare sight these sleepy days!)

the cheese

Ty calls the camera the "cheese." Apparently the word stuck from hearing us say it so much as we've tried to get him to smile for pictures. It's a funny thing...The kid is a smiley kid. He smiles and laughs a lot, but he refuses to smile when the camera is pointed at him--little stinker! My best chance of capturing his sweet smile is to get him in candid moments, which are the best anyway. So, Ty and I had fun with the "cheese" this morning. Here are a few of my favorites...
