Toy Story obsession

I love that Ty wrote his name on the bottom of Woody's boots (just like Andy in the movie)!

To say that we like Toy Story is an understatement. We've seen each of the three movies (what seems like) hundreds of times, and "Big Buzz," "Little Buzz," and "Woody" are the definite favorites.

another one bites the dust...

Sickness update: Corey ended up getting it (while away at a retreat for which he was the key speaker!) And it lasted six days in our kids. I couldn't believe it! I had heard that it could last as long as seven days but I didn't really believe it. They have only had 12-hour stomach bugs in the past. Not this time. They were lifeless, little things that could do nothing but lay on the couch. It was so sad! But, it's gone now. We have Ty and Drew back! We knew when they started acting silly and chasing each other around the house that we were good to go. :)

sick days

Well, the stomach bug has made its way to the Smith home, although these two have been the only ones affected so far. This picture was taken on day 2 of the madness. We were up all night the night before (except for Luke, who thankfully slept through everything). After a few hours of throwing up in the bathroom, we needed a change of scenery so we moved to the couch for a movie marathon ("Cars" once, "Toy Story" twice). It was quite a sight--I sat in the middle of Ty and Drew; Corey sat on the end, and we took turns holding trash cans up as these poor babies threw up sometimes every 15-30 minutes. It was terrible. Then, the "Big D" hit. I have no experience with kids and the Big D, but it's not pretty. Let's just say, they often didn't make it to the bathroom... Sorry--TMI, I know, but I had to share. Needless to say, there have been lots of changes of underwear and clothes, and I've been steadily working through a mountain of laundry.

The boys each ate a 1/4 of a baked potato last night for dinner--the first food they've eaten in three days. And they are starting to get some life back--a hint of their personalities is returning. Oh how I've missed them! I think I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Luke and Livy

Our friends, Damein and Leah, visited this past week and brought their 9-week old baby girl, Livy. It was our first time to meet her, and as you can tell, she's a sweet little peanut! Maybe there is a future for these two? :)
