Quiet = Mischief
I love the quietness that comes at the end of the day when I put my kiddos in bed and sit down (probably for the first time all day). It is a serene, wonderful quietness. But that's not the kind that happens during the day. When it's quiet in our home (other than nap time), Ty is usually up to something. So, today, while I was feeding Drew, Ty got really quiet. Since he was in the kitchen only a few feet away from me, I didn't think there was anything he could get into, but I was wrong. When I went to check on him, he had a pack of watermelon gum, he was licking a piece of it that was still halfway in the wrapper, and there was an empty wrapper next to him on the floor. Oh, and his breath smelled like watermelon! I think he ate a piece of gum! Should I be worried? Growing up, I always heard that if you swallowed gum, it would stay in your body for seven years. Did grown-ups just tell kids that so we wouldn't do it??? I'm not sure, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow! (I'll be on the lookout during diaper changes!)

Oh no! So true--every time Tommy gets quiet, I panic. Gum is pretty bad, so I guess I should be glad he hasn't found any of that yet. I think his worst was when he opened his diaper pail and was sitting in his bedroom, pulling apart diapers and poopy wipes and putting them in his mouth. That was 10 minutes before we left for Christmas vacation. I hope Ty didn't get sick from his little escapade!
